Effect of sowing methods and preservation conditions on yield and quality of rice speciality Nanh Chon, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province

Summary

 

Nanh Chon rice flavored with a special symbol is the speciality of Dat Do district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, and is famous for rice delicious rice in the South, used the occasion of anniversaries and New year and reception guests. Nanh Chon rice grown only 1 season/year and suitable for measures to transplant the study direct sowing techniques and maintain quality in storage for later use is necessary. This paper present the results of two experiments in service recovery goals Namh Chon specialty rice production, is: (1) To determine the effect of direct sowing methods to yield Nam Chon and (2) determine the effect of preservation conditions on the quality of rice Nanh Chon. Both experiments were lots stripe design for experiment 2 factors according Gomez and Gomez (1984). Experiment 1 is made from rice cultivation month 7-12/2013 on the 2 seasons of rice land in Dat Do district, said Nanh Chon rice can yield 4 t/ha for direct sowing methods. And to achieve high levels of performance of traditional rice varieties group  of 4 t/ha, the time of sowing should be done in August with seed sowing was 40 kg/ha. Experiment 2 was carried out from month 1-10/2013 Research Department qualities in rice Institute of Agricultural Science for Southern, said as long as the storage of rice amylose content while increasing the rate head rice and aroma descending. Acordingly, to maintain quality and economic value of rice Nanh Chon, proper storage of time not exceeding 7 month in room temperature conditions and not exceed 9 month at 200C conditions; preservation temperature is 100C, the Nanh Chon rice retains good quality after 9 months of harvest.
