Belarus and Pakistan Set Up Agri Plants in Pakistan
Saturday, 2015/08/15 | 05:42:17

Scientists from Belarus who visited the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) have expressed keen interest to build agricultural machinery plants in Pakistan. Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Skiandar Hayat khan Bosan presided the meeting on July 30, 2015, attended by the delegation from Belarus and scientists from PARC. The cooperation between the two countries will focus on the promotion of biotechnology, crop productivity, livestock, and agriculture machinery.

In his presentation, Mikhail Nikiforov, Academician Secretary of the Department of Biological Sciences of National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in Belarus, said that his country has developed several crop technologies that could be used to improve the agriculture sector in Pakistan. PARC Chairman Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad expressed the hope that Pakistan will have an opportunity to enhance agriculture cooperation with Belarus and take advantage of latest technology that the country has produced. "It would bring a positive impact on the agriculture sector of the country," he said.
