FAO at the UN Climate Change Conference COP 25
Tuesday, 2019/12/10 | 08:26:59

FAO recognizes that agriculture and food systems play a fundamental role in feeding a growing population and solving the climate crisis but that these systems must be transformed through inclusive, multisectoral approaches that reduce emissions, draw down carbon, and boost climate resilience and adaptation.

From 2-13 December 2019, the Government of Spain is hosting the 25th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP25), under the Presidency of the Government of Chile, in Madrid. See below the events in which FAO is participating:

FAO will be supporting countries to make sure that agriculture and food systems continue being part of the negotiations, following developments to secure climate finance, strengthening  partnerships and creating new ones. Key areas of engagement will include the Marrakech Partnership for Global Climate Action and negotiations related to the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture.
