FCSSP Holds 23rd Scientific Conference

The Federation of Crop Science Societies of the Philippines (FCSSP) held its 23rd Scientific Conference last May 12-15, 2015 at the Stotsenberg Hotel in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga, Philippines. It was chaired by the Philippine Seed Industry Association Inc., co-organized by three societies (Crop Science, PhilFruits, and the Philippine Association of Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology), with support from the Department of Agriculture, the Pampanga State Agricultural University, among others.

 

The conference, themed Farming Innovations and Quality Seed−Key to Profitable Farming and Global Competitiveness featured workshops, research papers, posters, talks, and presentations from different areas of crop science.

 

During the conference's closing ceremony, Dr. Rhodora R. Aldemita, ISAAA Senior Program Officer, was given the 2015 CSSP Honorary Fellow Award, in recognition of her contributions to research, teaching, and extension work in the promotion of biotechnology in agriculture.
