The Plant Protection Research Institute, in collaboration with Syngenta Vietnam Company Ltd., conducted large scale field trial of GM maize MIR 162 event for Lepidoptera insect resistance in Son La on June 2, 2016.
The field trial area of about 7,000 square meters was in the sub-region 19, Hat Lot town, Mai Son district, Son La province. During this testing, besides GM maize event MIR162, Syngenta Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Plant Protection Research Institute also conducted trials of stacked GM maize Bt11 x MIR162 x GA21.
The large scale field trial follows the provisions of Decree No. 69/2010/ND-CP and Circular No. 69/2009/TT-BNNPTNT.
