IRRI, Tuesday, September 13, 2016

BANGKOK, Thailand—The latest technologies developed at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) attracted a big crowd at a Southeast Asian agri-business show held on 8-10 September in Bangkok.

Hundreds of people who attended the SIMA ASEAN 2016, including farmers from Nakhon Ratchasima Farmers Group, also visited the IRRI booth.  Aside from the institute’s research outputs, the booth featured IRRI’s collaborations with Thailand. IRRI’s participation in the event was sponsored by IMPACT Exhibition Management Co. Ltd.

More than a hundred persons subscribed to e-Rice Today email newsletter to receive must-read information about rice science, rice market and trade, and insights provided by leading experts.

SIMA ASEAN 2016 was hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC). MOAC’s involvement in the event signifies the government’s leadership to guide the Thai agricultural industry towards the next level of innovation, technology, standards, and knowledge to help develop the Thai agriculture industry into the next ASEAN agribusiness hub.

This event was organized by IMPACT Exhibition Management Co. Ltd.,  and France-based companies, COMEXPOSIUM and AXEMA.
