ISAAA News - September 1, 2021

ISAAA and Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) are co-organizing the webinar on SOLVE Info-sufficiency on Genome-edited Crops on September 8, 2021 at 10 AM (GMT+8) via Zoom.

Participants of the webinar will be equipped with the following:

• - general overview of genome editing applications for crops and the necessity of regulatory frameworks that are science and evidence-based;
•  
• - examples of how genome editing could benefit agriculture in the region; and
•  
• - trends in new breeding innovations and case studies of genome edited products in developed and developing countries.  
•  

Dr. Carl Ramage, Managing Director of Rautaki Solutions, will provide the international perspective on genome editing technology. The Philippine perspective will be tackled by Dr. Saturnina Halos, President of the Biotechnology Coalition of the Philippines. SEARCA Project Coordinator II Jerome Barradas will serve as the moderator of the discussions.

The webinar is part of the SEARCA Online Learning and Virtual Engagements (SOLVE) that particularly highlights specific concrete and practical actions being implemented on the ground as a way to disseminate and promote these to the wider sector possible.  Attendance to the webinar is open to all and free of charge.
