Establish the production process of diterpen lacton powder extracting from andrographis paniculata (burm.f.) To use for pig and poultry diet (Author: Vuong Nam Trung and Nguyen Thi Yen)

The andrographis paniculata samples with more than 8.5% Diterpen lacton (DL) compounds was collected to research on anti-bacterial as well as immune responses. Based on the results, the process of DL extracting from andrographis paniculata and the production process of DL powder were established to produce the DL product.

Astract

The andrographis paniculata samples with more than 8.5% Diterpen lacton (DL) compounds was collected to research on anti-bacterial as well as immune responses. Based on the results, the process of DL extracting from andrographis paniculata and the production process of DL powder were established to produce the DL product. The results showed that the andrographolide with purify of 99.8% were isolated and identified and the half product with more than 50% DL compounds at laboratorial scale was prepared. Four extracts of water, MeOH, EtOH and DCM-MeOH at concentration of 20 mg per disc, respectively, showed antibacterial activity on gram-positive bacteria, especially S. aureus and MRSA. However, andrographolide as a main DL of A. paniculata is negative effect on both gram - and gram + bacteria at concentration of 10 mg per disc. The aqueous extract (1 g/kg, p.o.), DL extract (200 mg/kg, p.o.) and active component andrographolide (5-20 mg/kg, i.p.) increased phagocytic index of cyclophosphamide-induced immunosuppressive mice. Andrographolide (5-20 mg/kg, i.p.) increased hepatic glutathione content decreased by cyclophosphamide. The production process of DL powder was established and its quality met all the standards with DL content more than 10%.
