ABSTRACTAfter the study on DNA structure (April 25, 1953) by James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, and Rosalind Franklin; rice genome as well as crop species has been developed in term of a new era of green revolution with the emphasis on genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics. In Vietnam, rice breeding for abiotic and biotic stress tolerance has been conducted successfully to meet the demand of climated change and food security. New technologies were addressed as GBS (genotyping by sequencing), GWAS, epigenetics and genome editing to be applied in rice genome. More attentions should be paid to scientific manpower strengthening, research investment and new DNA technology accessing. They would be powerful tools in future rice breeding program. |
