African leaders in agriculture are gathered for the four-day Africa Green Revolution Forum (ADRF) which opens in Lusaka, Zambia today until October 2, 2015. The event is organized by the AGRF Partners Group, the Government of Zambia and the Common Market for East and Southern Africa (COMESA). This year's theme is "Walking the Talk on Youth and Women: Bringing Inclusive Agricultural Markets to Life." The objective of the Forum is to define clear strategies to make markets and the financial system work better for African farmers—strategies that enable youth and women to engage in agriculture as a business enterprise and generate a triple dividend of improved food security, increased incomes and job creation.
African Development Bank president Dr. Akinwumi Adesina will deliver the keynote address. Over 400 delegates are expected to attend the event.
