ABSTRACT
The title “Improve the process for spinach (Spinacia oleracea) production hydroponically in the plastic – greenhouse” were conducted at Ho Buu Farm, new city Binh Duong from March to September of 2011. Selection of spinach variety and hydroponic nutrients formula in the plastic – greenhouse. The two-factor experiment was laid out in split-plot design, comprised 12 treatments with three replications. The main-plots were four nutrient formulas (Hoagland & Arnon; Bradley & Tabares; Morgan and Faulkner) and sub-plots included three varieties (NH Thien rau; Nhat TAKII and Hong Kong). The results showed that the treatment used NH Thien rau variety and Morgan’s formula had the highest marketable yield and profit (2,81 kg per m2 và 9.834 VND per m2). Adjustment of N, P, K in the nutrients formula to suit the spinach cultivation. From the results of the first experiment, application of NH Thien rau variety and Morgan’s formula. The two factor experiment was arranged in split-plot design, comprised 15 treatments with three replications. The main-plots were three levels of phosphorus and potassium and sub-plots included five levels of Nitrogen. The result indicated that application of 20% increment of the N level and without changing doses of P, K in the nutrients formula, gained the highest marketable yield and profit (3,38 kg per m2 và 15.564 VND per m2). Selection density of growing and nutrients levels for edible spinach according to each its growth periods in the plastic – greenhouse. From findings of the second experiment, the third two-factor experiment was laid out in split-plot design, comprised 12 treatments replicated three. The main-plots were three densities (156 plants per m2; 100 plants per m2 and 69 plants per m2) and sub-plots comprised four nutrients levels (10% - 20% - 30% - 40%; 15% - 25% - 35% - 25%; 10% - 25% - 35% - 30% and 10% - 25% - 30% - 35%). The results reported that the application with 100 plants population per m2 and different nutrient levels applied to each growth period was 15 per cent (20 days after sowing); 25 per cent (25 days after sowing); 35 per cent (30 days after sowing); 25 per cent (35 days after sowing), was the best, suitable for hydroponic spinach cultivation, also gave the highest marketable yield and maximum net return (3,09 kg per m2 và 12.548 VND per m2). |
