2024 SOFI Report Presents Financial Strategies to Address Food Insecurity and Malnutrition
Monday, 2024/07/29 | 08:19:50

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is set to release the 2024 State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) during the G20 Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty Task Force Ministerial Meeting on July 24, 2024. The annual report highlights the global progress in the efforts to end hunger, attain food security, and enhance nutrition.

The recent reports showed the reversal in progress and significant leaps toward food security and poverty alleviation and the agrifood systems remain vulnerable to challenges. FAO, together with co-authors of the report—International Fund for Agricultural Development, World Food Programme, World Health Organization, and United Nations Children's Fund, call for innovative financing options to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger. The updated estimates will help countries devise plans to bridge the financial gaps, transforming agrifood systems to be more resilient to major food security challenges.

Visit the FAO website for more the report launch.
